※ SLP family introduction

    SLP is a unique family of PPP phosphatases, which is highly conserved among all plants and members also can be found in fungi and bacteria. Arabidopsis thaliana contains two SLP phosphatases: SLP1 and SLP2. SLP1 and SLP2 localize to different cellular compartments, with SLP1 found in chloroplastic and SLP2 found in cytosolic. SLP are metal cation dependent phosphatase and show preferences to Mn2+ and Fe3+. In addition, SLP members contain core signature motifs of PPP family phosphatases and act as ser/thr protein phosphatase (1).
